The mystery house located within the Cosmos of the Black Hills was discovered in 1952 by two college students who were looking for the perfect place to build a summer cabin. Experience a world where Science, Mystery, and Fun collide. Groups were too large to see some of the areas the guides were showing. Cosmos Mystery Area is located at 24040 Cosmos Rd., Rapid City, SD. It was not worth the price due to not having anytime to take pics. Hard to find this as the signs on hwy were small, down a dirt road and paid the $6 for my son to dig for a geode and he was able to break it open. As a child, I remember being able to spend so much more time exploring the house. Billed as being 'South Dakota's Biggest Mystery,' the Cosmos Mystery Area is most famous for several unexplainable attractions that seem to defy the laws of physics, including the famous 'Mystery House' that allows visitors to walk on walls, roll a ball upwards, and watch their tall friends shrink. They literally had groups with guides waiting for their turn so it was a very quick experience. Tours highlighting interactive optical illusions built on the site of a summer cabin from 1952. The guide was great and fun to interact with but the area was run though very quickly without hardly anytime to enjoy the area.
